Comfort and engagement.
It’s difficult to choose what is more challenging – caring for a loved one with dementia or considering senior living to serve their needs. We are here to walk through the process at your pace with empathy and patience so you have peace of mind that you are making the right decision.
We understand that peace of mind starts with quality care. That’s why our staff participates in ongoing training with top dementia educators – so you can step back from being the caregiver and start to be a daughter or son again.
The neighborhood is structured to offer an engaging and supportive environment with comfort and ease of navigation in mind. By focusing on dignity, quality of life, and independence, we strive to ensure all of our residents feel respected and cared for as they age, regardless of what they remember today or tomorrow.
Memory Care Apartments
Memory care is about finding the right balance between guided routine and privacy. That’s why every apartment is set up as a private space while still being a part of the daily activity throughout the community. Our apartments were designed with seniors in mind, ensuring simple and immediate access to all the necessities of life.
Assigned Life Enrichment Coordinators
Quality care begins with strong relationships. At The Boulevard, we pair life enrichment coordinators and residents as a team – so bonds of trust and friendship can be developed. When we interact with the same residents consistently we can focus on developing individualized communication skills unique to each resident and strive to identify small changes in health and wellness.
We are sensitive to the need for a secure environment to care for the challenges memory care inevitably brings. From the ground-up, memory care at The Boulevard was designed to provide that security and maximize independence and navigation without feeling restrictive.
Specialized activity stations, called Life Stations™, are spread throughout memory care. These stations are specially designed to promote engagement opportunities for residents. Each resembles a different aspect of life that residents will find familiar in order to capture residents’ attention and promote a sense of purpose. Our Life Enrichment Coordinators also create life boxes that are specific to memory care residents!
Because of the unique symptoms and behaviors caused by memory loss, it can seem like the only solution is to limit and restrict the senior’s activity. But, at The Boulevard, we have the means to do the difficult tasks to get residents re-engaged with life.
Regardless of the type of dementia, one consistent effect of memory loss is the tremendous negative impact it can have on diet. Our culinary team is specifically tuned to the needs of residents, forming a robust dining program that sits at the core of the amenities we provide. From creative solutions to hosting interactive events, there is an entire strategy designed around our memory care culinary services.
Get up, take a shower, comb your hair, brush your teeth, get dressed. That’s the routine that most of us take for granted as an automatic process. At The Boulevard, we want every resident to live with the dignity of being well groomed and dressed. That’s why we include a weekly visit to the salon at no additional cost.
Providing care for residents with dementia is a highly specialized skill – one that we develop with best courses in empathy, communication, and personal care.
