Creating a Thriving Workplace Culture

Category: Culture & Traditions

Author: Sonja Grodeon, Business Office Director

In today’s fast-paced world of healthcare, we realize the importance of creating a positive workplace culture. Here at The Boulevard Senior Living of Wentzville we understand to achieve this culture, employees must trust their workplace.

Each August, The Boulevard Wentzville participates in the Great Place to Work Survey. This is a time where staff can be open and honest about their feedback. The data is collected by a third party, so it truly is anonymous. It is so important for us to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly to know what we can work on to truly make our community a great place to work.

As the Business Office Director, promoting employee appreciation is a key part of my role. We consistently recognize our hard-working team members, embracing the philosophy of working hard and playing hard. When the opportunity arises to give our team a well-deserved break, we jump at it with enthusiasm.

Two women dressed in festive Christmas outfits pose in front of a holiday-themed backdrop featuring a decorated fireplace, wreath, and Christmas trees. One woman holds a "Santa Stop Here" sign, while the other holds a small gift box, capturing the holiday spirit.

For example, our annual Christmas in July celebration is a favorite—where everyone gets to wear festive sweaters, hang out with Mrs. Claus, and unwrap presents in the middle of summer. It’s our way of spreading holiday cheer and ensuring that everyone enjoys a slice of fun, no matter the season!

We believe when done right, making work a fun place creates a workplace culture that helps people thrive, promotes retention, and makes us a great place to work, which in turn makes us a great place to live.
