My name is Mindy Kemp, and I’m the memory care director at Boulevard Wentzville Senior Living. In honor of Women’s History Month, I want to take a moment to celebrate Gladys, one of our neighborhood residents!
Gladys S. began her journey with the Boulevards at the St. Charles location. She was a homemaker, but always found time to be a very active member of her church.
Gladys loves to play piano and sing. A golf lover, she has also won several tournaments, and always loved playing with friends. She enjoys neighborhood activities like beading, but sing-a-longs are her favorite.
I feel it is important to honor the stories and history of our residents living with dementia to allow staff and others to learn about them. We offer activities and ideas that are engaging to the residents. This gives us an idea of the who and why of their everyday routine.
In the Boulevard Wentzville Neighborhood, we try to connect with individuals through pictures, event recall, and activities they enjoyed prior to entering memory care.
