Dispelling Senior Living Myths

Arrow Senior Living is known for doing things a little differently and challenging the status quo within the industry. It’s just who we are! Even with all the technological conveniences of today such as social media and websites, it is still common to meet individuals with a skewed perception of what senior living looks like. In this blog, I want to share my senior living journey, why I remain committed to the industry, the biggest myth I believe exists, and how to help others overcome the myths surrounding our beautiful Boulevard Senior Living – Wentzville community and services.

Before assuming the role of Executive Director, I gained experience in various positions within the senior living industry. Starting as a Certified Nurse Assistant, I then pursued nursing school and obtained my Licensed Practical Nurse degree. Eventually, I became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.

Working in a senior living community often brings a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment. Contributing directly to the well-being of older adults through our work can be incredibly rewarding. Recently, we arranged a photoshoot on my farm for one of our residents who turned 100, helping her fulfill a bucket list item.

Collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals who share the goal of providing exceptional senior care and services is inspiring. The empathy and innovative thinking displayed by my team members daily motivate me.

Dispelling the myth that residents come to senior living communities solely for end-of-life care is crucial. These communities offer a vibrant and fulfilling lifestyle for older adults.

We cultivate a social environment where residents can participate in activities, events, and forge new friendships, enhancing their quality of life. Additionally, we provide amenities such as housekeeping, meal services, transportation, and maintenance to make daily life more convenient.

Moving to a senior living community can be a practical choice for seniors looking to downsize from a larger home and simplify their lives. We offer various levels of healthcare support, ranging from assistance with daily activities to specialized memory care for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
