December 27, 2024
Each year, I select a Word of the Year to guide my focus and intentions in both personal and professional life. As the Executive Director at The Boulevard Senior Living of Wentzville in Wentzville, Missouri, the beginning of a new year always feels like a chance to reset, refocus, and prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead. My chosen word serves as an anchor, shaping how I lead my team, support families, and care for residents. Reflecting on 2024, I am truly amazed at how much this practice influenced our journey.
My Word of the Year for 2024 was value. This word guided our efforts to strengthen as a team, enhance our worth, and consistently improve customer service by creating meaningful value for our residents.
Value shaped every aspect of our decisions, relationships, and growth throughout the year. It served as a compass, ensuring our choices aligned with what truly matters to our residents and staff. This focus encouraged more meaningful interactions, authentic actions, and personal development. We prioritized quality time, pursued projects that aligned with our core values, and set boundaries to protect our well-being as a team.
As we move into 2025, the lessons from 2024 will guide our next steps. Our focus will remain on stability, authenticity, and staying true to our core principles. By building on the progress we’ve made, we aim to emphasize growth, resilience, and alignment with our shared values.
Our Word of the Year for 2025 is grounded. This word reflects our commitment to remaining centered as a team while navigating new challenges and opportunities. Staying grounded will help us maintain our connection to our principles, foster resilience, and continue to grow as leaders and individuals.
As 2025 approaches, I am reflecting on the lessons of 2024 and embracing the opportunities ahead. Choosing a Word of the Year is not about having all the answers. It’s about being intentional and open to the journey it inspires.
What will your Word of the Year be for 2025? Here’s to a year filled with purpose, growth, and meaningful moments for everyone. If you’re ready to be part of a team that values purpose and connection, consider joining us at The Boulevard Senior Living of Wentzville.
